Service Description

Treating childhood trauma can often be challenging, especially in family contexts in which the abuse has occurred by a family member and/or the caregivers struggle with supportive and appropriate parenting strategies. This training will explore ways in which childhood trauma can be addressed within family therapy sessions with caregivers actively involved in the activities. Participants will learn about new and creative ways to incorporate psychoeducation activities for ages 3-17 and their caregivers. Participants will expand their understanding of core CBT concepts and learn new ways to incorporate CBT interventions in a way that is engaging, fun, and meaningful for families. This engaging and highly interactive training with arm attendees with several new interventions that support families in understanding trauma and common trauma responses, affect identification and regulation, and addressing unhelpful family patterns.
